The Commercial Game Workout – Stop Sitting Around

We’ve all used the “not enough time to work out” excuse, and it often crosses our minds when we’re sitting in front of the TV. I’ve certainly been guilty of pondering exercise while watching TV. That’s where the “commercial game workout” comes into play. What’s fantastic about this workout is that you can do it on your own or include others, making it a flexible and convenient fitness solution.

I understand it might sound amusing, but I genuinely value some relaxation time at the end of the day. For me, it’s unwinding with a sports game or a comedy show on TV. After we put the kids to bed, my wife and I indulge in some ice cream and enjoy our TV time. Once the ice cream is gone, we might grab some chips and continue watching TV until it’s time to go to bed. Does this routine sound familiar to anyone?

I’m fully aware of the importance of staying in shape for my health, as well as to keep up with my energetic boys. Nevertheless, I’m also a bit of a pushover for late-night ice cream and snacks while watching TV. I know it’s not the healthiest bedtime practice, but breaking this habit has proven to be challenging. That’s where the commercial game workout comes to the rescue.

What is the Commercial Game Workout?

Instead of lounging on the couch, indulging in ice cream and cookies, you can utilize this time to improve your fitness. The best part is:

  • You can still enjoy your favorite shows.
  • You won’t succumb to the temptation of unhealthy snacking.
  • You’ll get into better shape.

This is a winning combination

The beauty of this approach is that you can tailor it to your preferences. Here are a few options:

Option 1:

  • Go all out during the first commercial break.
  • Take a break during the second commercial.
  • Go all out again during the third commercial.

Option 2:

  • Give your all during each commercial break, as they typically last about 2-3 minutes.
  • Rest during the show or until the next commercial break.

Option 3:

  • Create your unique combination.

Normally, we tend to use commercial breaks for snacking or even fast-forwarding with DVRs. Now, you can use this time to stay active and have some fun. It’s not meant to replace your regular workout but rather to add some enjoyment and break the habit of eating and lounging during your TV sessions. Here’s an example of a workout for commercial breaks, and if the commercials are longer, just repeat the set:
